Nankang Sportnex AS-2+ is a real winner in wet weather. Great test results from both Tuulilasi and Tekniikan Maailma show that Nankang is one of the best in the tire world, but still at an affordable price.
Fourth place and a great 8.6 points in Tuulilasi's big summer tire test
The Nankang Sportnex AS-2+ came in an excellent fourth place in Tuulilasi's tire test (Tuulilasi 3/2017). Nankang did particularly well in rainy weather. Tuulilasi said of Nankang: "The good wet grip is especially pleasing. The driving behavior in the rain is commendably neutral." Nankang also performed consistently well in other areas, receiving a grade of at least eight in every measurement. As a result of the consistent performance, the mechanical grade was only half a point short of winning the test.
"The affordable Nankang surprised with its improved grip"
Nankang was clearly the most affordable tire in the test, which Tuulilasi also paid attention to. Tuulilasi said that Nankang was up to 50 euros cheaper than the second cheapest tire in the test, and the most expensive tire was no less than 79% more expensive than Nankang. Despite this, Nankang was an excellent fourth in the test, only half a point short of winning the test. However, the significantly cheaper price was not taken into account in the scoring.
Excellent success in Tekniikan Maailma's large summer tire test
Nankang Sportnex AS-2+ is a real success in Tekniikan Maailma's (8/2016) summer tire test, which did very well among the significantly more expensive brand tires. In the final result, the difference in grade between Nankang and Michelin is only 0.4 points. Nankang gets a school grade of 8.1 and Michelin 8.5. The difference is negligible.
The result is a treat for all motorists who want to buy summer tires at a lower price and trust that they will get safe tires. The Tekniikan Maailma test primarily emphasizes the safety of summer tires. Nankang receives praise especially in safety-related factors, such as wet grip and dry drivability.
Nankang's braking grip in the wet is good
Nankang's braking grip in the wet is rated 9, while Michelin's result is 8, for example. Nankang is also better than Michelin in dry braking. Nankang and Michelin receive the same ratings in wet grip and dry drivability.
Excellent design guarantees a safe end result
The AS-2+ Sportnex also performed well in tests conducted by the prestigious TÜV SUD testing institute. In the test, the tire is driven against three leading tire brands, comparing, among other things, dry and wet grip, driving feel, noise level and rolling resistance.
The AS-2+ Sportnex was awarded the TÜV SUD quality mark after a very successful test.
